1. How do I join the Automatic Bank Draft plan?

A. You are eligible to join the Automatic Bank Draft plan if you have a good credit history with TXU Gas and a checking account with a financial institution that is a member of the Automated Clearing House Association. You can enroll using our secure online registration. Or print off and complete the authorization form and mail it with a canceled or voided check to Bank Draft, TXU Gas, P.O. Box 660409, Dallas, TX 75266-0409.

2. How does Automatic Bank Draft work?

A. After signing up, your payment will be automatically transferred from your banking account every month on the day before your bill is due. You will also receive a statement each month, which shows the date and amount your banking account will be drafted.

3. What if I disagree with the Automatic Bank Draft amount shown on my bill?

A. You have up to 10 days from the billing date to contact TXU concerning bill discrepancies. If the matter is not settled to your satisfaction before the draft date, you may request to suppress automatic draft of your account for that month.

4. What if I don't have enough money in my account to pay my monthly Automatic Bank Draft?

A. Automatic Bank Draft payments returned for insufficient funds will be subject to charges similar to those of a returned check. If your account cannot be deducted due to insufficient funds twice within 12 months, your account will be removed from the plan.

5. What if I have a question about the Automatic Bank Draft amount deducted?

A. If you believe that your Automatic Bank Draft transfer is incorrectly recorded on your statement, contact TXU Gas by calling 1.800.460.3030 and we will initiate an investigation.

6. When will the Automatic Bank Draft plan begin?

A. Your account will be set up on Automatic Bank Draft within a few business days after we receive your authorization form. Please continue to make payments on your bill until you receive a statement marked "Your bill will drafted on ______."

7. What are the benefits of using Automatic Bank Draft?

A. Benefits of Automatic Bank Draft include:

  • no worries about late or missed payments if you're busy or away from home
  • time and postage costs saved
  • eliminating the need to write checks
  • simplify your bill payment.

8. What if my account is with a Credit Union or Savings Institution?

A. Most financial institutions participate, however please confirm this with your bank, Credit Union or Savings institution.

9. What is the cost of using Automatic Bank Draft?

A. Automatic Bank Draft is a free service provided by TXU Gas. Please check with your bank or financial institution regarding any related fees they may charge.

11. What if I want to discontinue using Automatic Bank Draft to pay my gas bills?

A. No problem. Simply call our customer care line at 1.800.460.3030 letting us know of your wish to discontinue automatic debit from your account and we will discontinue your automatic transfers immediately.

12. How can I be sure my bill has been paid?

A. Your payment will be clearly itemized on your monthly account statement.

13. If I close, disconnect, or stop service on my gas account with TXU, will my final bill be drafted?

A. When you call in to disconnect or transfer service, your final bill will NOT be drafted. You will need to make other payment arrangements for your final bill.
